Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly prepared to swap Brazilian winger Lucas Moura as part of a deal to bring in Arkadiusz Milik. Spurs have been persuaded to move for Milik as back up to first-choice striker Harry Kane whose own future at the club is uncertain.
The 26-year-old has scored 27 Serie A goals for Napoli in the past two seasons. And is also a rumored target for rivals Juventus. According to Daily Mail, Tottenham has stepped up their pursuit for Milik by informing the Italian club that they are willing to use Lucas Moura as a makeweight for the deal.
Napoli made an attempt to lure the Brazilian winger to Naples last summer. And the club’s president Aurelio De Laurentis has admitted to being a huge fan of the player. Reports suggest that Lucas Moura will have the final say on whether he wants to stay in North London or move to Napoli after spending two & a half years at the club.
However, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has applauded Harry Kane for his desire to help the team. Despite not finding the net before the game against Newcastle. The Portuguese coach hailed England forward for his leadership role upfront.
Tottenham coach hails Harry Kane
Mourinho said “He does what he does always & that’s to play for the team and sometimes to play for the team is to finish off attacking situations, other times to play for the team is to do what we did today. We knew he was going to get the goals eventually but before then the spaces were opened for Son & Lucas than him.
Harry Kane scored a brace in Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-1 away victory over Newcastle at St. James Park. The North London club will face Leicester City who got a 2-0 win over in-form Sheffield United on Thursday night. A win for Spurs will see them book a place in next season’s Europa League group stage.
Jose Mourinho said “Harry drops deep in midfield and this is one aspect of him that players don’t know. But he’s so good technically while holding the ball. He sometimes plays well when he drops back rather than playing as a target striker. It is very important that a team doesn’t have selfish situations of doing certain things himself he does what is best for the team which is more important”.
