Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Juventus ended their game with one point against Roma. Roma’s Jordan Veretout and Ronaldo both scored penalties after both teams were penalized for handball. Before the first half was over, the French midfielder scored his second goal to take the lead over Juve.
Adrien Rabiot received a second yellow card and was sent out of the game and left his side a man down. But a superb header from Ronaldo brought them back in the game and earned a point for the Italian champions.
The final result has seen Andrea Pirlo’s side stay in the 5th position after gathering four points in two games. Roma is now on the 13th position after they played a goalless draw against Hellas Verona. But the score was changed to 3-0 by Serie-A because they featured an ineligible player.
Mkhitaryan was close to getting a goal for Roma but his shot was blocked by Wojciech Szczesny. The home team went over Juve when Rabiot was sent off the field. Although giving Veretout the chance to get a goal from the penalty.
Juventus equaled the score in all most the same style when Lorenzo Pellegrini blocked the ball. And Cristiano Ronaldo fired Juventus up with a spot-kick.
However, the lead lasted for just two minutes before the end of the first half and Mkhitaryan gave a pass to Veretout to convert. Pirlo and his team were left behind in the game before a second yellow was shown to Rabiot.
But they got an equalizer that came from Ronaldo when he was found hanging in the air and headed the ball in the net.
Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo told Sky Italia after the draw, It was a step backward, but as a team, we are a work in progress.
