His Early Life

On June 3, 1986, Rafael Nadal was born in Mallorca, Spain. His uncle who was a formal professional tennis player Toni Nadal started training him when he was only 3 years old. His uncle saw great potential in young Rafael for the sport.

He gave his uncle zeal to step up his training when at the age of 8 he won an under-12 regional tennis championship.

Toni discovered that Nadal uses his two hands to play his forehand shots and he encouraged and trained him in playing with his left-hand thinking it will give him a great chance on the court.

He won the Spanish and European tennis titles made for his age group when he was only 12 years old. At the age of 15 later turned professional.
