The English premier league has started and the fixtures have been placed for every team. Premier League reigning champions will face the newly promoted team, Leeds United on the opening weekend of the 2020/2021 season of the premier league. Championship winners Fulham will play against Arsenal in opening weekend London derby, West Brom take on Leicester City at the Hawthorns.
It will be a mouth-watering start as the English top-flight set to begin. Although many premier league clubs have made huge money transfers to rebuild their teams for the restart league, few have only decided to save some money for the club.
The opening round of the matches will take place at the beginning of the weekend of September 12. Although Manchester city vs Astonvilla and Burnley vs Manchester United has been postponed. This was done because Mancity and manchester united just finished their European campaigns and will need some time to rest.
However, Manchester City first Match will be against Wolves on the 19th of September, while manchester united will play against crystal palace at old Trafford on the same weekend. Chelsea will also face delays as they travel to Brighton including wolves who are taking a trip to Sheffield because of their European league campaign. Both teams will now play on 14 September.
The other premier league opening matches are crystal palace vs Southampton, Tottenham vs Everton, and Westham United vs Newcastle United.
Presently, the time of the matches has not been announced. It will be announced when television stations have been selected. However, matches will be played behind closed doors as there has been no declaration for when fans will be present in stadiums.
