Novak Djokovic Shares his Sympathy to Other Tennis Players

A statement gotten from Djokovic stated, At the time we arrived in Belgrade we went for the test. My result of the test is positive the same as Jelena. While our children’s results were all negative. Everything we did last month was all done with pure heart and sincerity. Our tournament was meant to be a united one, shared a solidarity message and compassion to all-region.

The tournament was brought to establish upcoming tennis players and help other big names coming from the southeastern part of Europe. So that they can participate in some competitive tennis since other Tours have been suspended due to the pandemic.

It was brought with an idea to direct all the funds that will be raised to people in need and i was warmed to see everyone react to it. The tournament was organized when the coronavirus pandemic has reduced. Having the belief that the conditions for hosting the tournament have been met.

Unfortunately, the virus has not gone completely. We just realized that we are still learning how to adapt and live with it. I am hoping that things ease and get better with time so we can all resume lives the way we were.

I am deeply sorry for each person’s case of infection. Djokovic added by saying I hope it won’t complicate anyone’s health issue and everyone will be ok. I will be in self-isolation for two weeks and repeat the test after five days.
