His Early Life
On June 15, 1992, Mohamed Salah was born, in Nagrig, Gharbia, Egypt, to average class parents. His parents were worried as Mohamed was poor in academics. He could not improve in his academics even trying to balance it with football. All through his young life, football was his major priority.
He is always playing football, and when he’s not, he’s watching it in the television. His idols are mostly Arabic players. His mother always wanted another career for Mohamed but he was so in love with the sport he didn’t follow what his mother wanted for him.
Salah started taking football as a career when he joined a local youth club ‘El Mokawloon’ in Cairo but initially, he took football just for fun. He had to take 5 buses to get to the academy as it was far from his hometown. This armed his academics, as he dedicated more time for Soccer to his studies, but his zeal for the sport kept him focused.

During the time the Egyptian Premier League was threatened by the ‘Port Said Stadium Disaster’, he was signed by the Switzerland club ‘Basel’. Mohamed signed a 4 years contract with Basel in April 2012. He made the UEFA Championship and Europa League debut that same year, and help his club by scoring in important situations. They made it to the Semi-finals but lost.
In 2012-13, Salah was important to Basel as he led his team to victory in winning the Swiss Super League Championship. He was part of the Basal team that won the ‘Uhren Cup’ at the beginning of the next season.
