Arsenal Coach, Mikel Arteta has gained promotion from the club’s hierarchy. Arteta’s job title has changed from first-team manager as part of a restructuring that reflects his development in the club. He succeeded Unai Emery at arsenal last year and went to lead the club into the FA Cup success. The success also gave the club promotion to the Europa League competition.
Arteta will not only do the coaching works but will also take part in general football operations and transfers alongside technical director Edu. The club introduced the title of head coach after former coach Arsene Wenger retired. Wenger stayed in the club for 22 years and left in 2018.
Announcing the decision, Arsenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham said Mikel Arteta has lifted the spirit of the club, including its energy.
Arteta has been in the club since December. And the last nine months have been the most challenging months of the club’s history. And we have been for 134 years. Despite all the challenges, Mikel has been pushing the club forward.
Mikel Arteta lifted the spirit and the energy here in London Colney and with Arsenal fans all across the world. He is doing a great job. The other thing that is clear is that when he walked through the door, he was doing more than a head coach. So we would bee changing his job going forward. He will move from head coach to be the first team manager. That’s the recognition of what he has done for the club from the day he walked in the doors where we see his capabilities.
Arsenal finished the premier league season landing on the eight position, but they managed to win the FA Cup and Community shield.
Venkatesham added, He is doing a great job of coaching the first team and that is his primary responsibility. But there is so much more that he can bring and that’s why the change is been made, In recognition of what he has done and what he is doing already.
