The fight for a place in the Champions League has an animus one between the UEFA and Manchester city. Reasons and charges have been brought upon the English team before the competition was withdrawn in March due to the global pandemic.
Manchester City, the English premier league defending champion will face the UEFA board in court on Monday. The English side was charged by the chamber of adjudicatory of UEFA due to a violation of the FFP regulation (Financial fair pay). The team was also issued a two years ban in the Champions League. Following a fine of 30 million euros respectively.
Man city will walk out of the animosity of the UEFA. If only they could convince the three judges in a court case that will last for three days. The final decision will be made before the resumption of the Champions League in August.
Manchester City has gone far in the Champions League before the competition was called off. After the win against the Spanish side, Real Madrid in full time 2-1 win. Manchester City has now landed themselves in the Quarterfinal fight.
CFCB has made it obvious that man city has indulged in a serious violation of club license and FFP regulation. The club overstated the sponsorship revenue in their account which also reflected in the break-even information given to UEFA in 2012 and 2016. They also failed to be part of the investigations.
The man reacted to the allegation with an appeal against it, saying that every information about the case were all false and were all leaked. The court of arbitration for sports has agreed to hear the appeal from Monday to Wednesday.

A leaked document showed that the club owner tried to top the value of agreement on sponsorship, the read that the club was paying 8 million euros instead of the 67 million euros on sponsorship agreement.

Manchester City tried to dismiss the ban in November. But the CAS rejected the attempt and overturned it to be done by procedures. In most instances when a ban is reversed, CAS will give another optional punishment. The ban may be reduced to a year.
The FFP rule was brought by UEFA in 2009 to help clubs managed spending to avoid financial difficulties. Clubs will be able to meet up their break-even as dealings have to be eased.
Man City who has qualified for the champions league nine times in row can’t afford to be away for two seasons. It will be a great loss for the team if they don’t play in the Champions League. The team is likely to lose about 100 million euros in revenue.
The club’s manager Pep Guardiola said he will be staying in the team even if they are issued a two-season ban.
