Luis Suarez has finally taken the exit door out of Barcelona after he agreed to terminate his contract. Despite the long term talks and interest that were shown by Juventus. It seems like its Athletico Madrid who would seal a deal with the Uruguayan striker. Suarez’s arrival could trigger Alvaro Morata to move to Juventus on a loan. Morata has spent two seasons with Juventus in 2014 and 2016. He was also part of the squad that reached the champions league final in 2015.
Luis Suarez has been expected to leave Barcelona after the new coach, Ronald Koeman made it clear that he was not part of his plan next season. The 33-year-old was waiting patiently for his passport to be approved ahead of the transfer window. And at the weekend Andri Pirlo said his transfer would be difficult.
Pirlo said, “Luis Suarez will be difficult because the times to get a passport is long, it’s complicated that our new striker can be him.
Ronald Koeman recently made a U-turn on his decision to cut Suarez and now wants him in Barca’s plan. But the decision is likely too late for the dutchman. Reports from Mundo Depotivo said the Uruguayan has agreed to terms with Athletico Madrid. The Spanish outlet reported that the 33 years old has finalized an agreement with Los Rojiblancos and will stay in the club for two years.
However, there have been no details on his salary. But Mundo revealed that Diego Simeone and Miguel Angel Gil Marin have been in constant contact with Suarez to reassure the player that he is their number one choice.
Although the fact that there is an agreement on personal terms doesn’t mean there is a done deal. Diego Simeone’s side will need to negotiate with Barcelona. And they will likely drop Diego costa to free some space of their wage bill.
