Frank Lampard has plans of making Thiago silva his captain if his free transfer to Stamford Bridge has been completed. According to reports, Lampard will ask silva to wear the armband for the 2020-21 season. He will be retrieving the band from Chelsea’s current captain, Cesar Azpilicueta. The Brazilian international has rejected the chances of taking up money moves to China and the middle east in a bid to maintain the top level.

When Silva was speaking about his departure from the French club, he said he still wants to play football until he is at least 38 and is targeting a spot in brazil’s squad for the Qatar world 2022.

Thiago Silva comment before PSG departure

“It was my last match in pairs”. I am sad. “I apologize to all the fans, silva said after the defeat against Bayern Munich. I thank all the fans for their love. Although I will return to Paris and the club that i love in another role. I want to play for three or four years and still be in Brazil’s team in the world cup in Qatar.

Although there is doubt that Lampard will take off Azpilicueta captain band after three years of been loyal. But it will be a good idea if Lampard makes silva the vice-captain but can still act as the leader in the field. And Azpilicueta can also do things extra duties as a captain.
