Swansea City are Interested in Signing Joel Latibeaudiere on a Free Transfer

Swansea boss Cooper wants to strengthen his defensive options regardless of Rodon’s situation.

Joel Latibeaudiere joined Manchester City at the age of 13 but has never made a first-team appearance for the Premier League club.

He played five times for Twente, scoring once.

Tottenham have offered £7 million for the Wales international and are hopeful of a deal for the 22-year-old despite interest from West Ham and Leicester.

To replace their in-demand center-back, the Swans are hopeful that they can finalize an agreement for Latibeaudiere

Who has yet to make a senior appearance for Pep Guardiol’s outfit.

However, he did make his senior bow last season on loan with Twente in Holland and will be keen to pick up more first-team experience.

Two of their team-mates, Rhian Brewster and Conor Gallagher, impressed while on loan at the Liberty Stadium last season.

Latibeaudiere has favored a similar approach, with the 2019-20 campaign spent with FC Twente.

He is already considering another switch for next season, potentially one that keeps him in England.

He told Manchester Evening News: ” Just to get out there playing first-team football. Literally, the whole team from that world Cup has gone on to play at a first-team club. ”

Latibeaudiere is held in high regard by City and his versatility could be put to good use in the future.
