The NFL is back and Kansas city chiefs hosting the Houston Texans in their season-opening that looks like none we have seen before. The chiefs were allowed to have 17,000 fans in attendance for the game. Though it been weird to see after a long time watching the sport without fans in the field.
But there was a terrible reaction before kickoff as fans were heard booing during a moment of unity in which both teams locked hands together in the middle of the field during the Black Anthem. During the national anthem, the Texan players were not on the field and before the coin was tossed. The activity drew a fair amount of criticism but also showed their support.
The most awkward moment came when the chief fans were heard booing during the moment of unity.
Doesn’t really surprise me that people who think attending a sporting event amidst COVID is a good idea, would ALSO boo a moment of racial unity. Still, disheartening. #NFL #KansasCityChiefs

Yeah, so that booing during the “show of unity” is a real good example of why players feel so strongly about these causes in the first place.

Andrew Brandt said, “The entire offseason was about unity and equality. Then as the season starts, the fans boo unity and perform the tomahawk chop. Oy.

You boo a moment of unity 1) when there's no unity, and 2) when you want to make it clear you don't want unity.

Some other people tweeted about the trend on their twitter handle. some others gave reactions based on their points of view.
David Hookstead said, “Kansas chiefs appear to boo the moment of peace with Texans prior to the game starting. People hate politics ruining sports.
Sarah Spain also shared her opinion on twitter, she said, “I would LOVE to see an interview with someone, ANYONE, in the crowd who just chose to boo a “moment of silence and unity.” Just try not to sound like a complete and utter idiot putting into words why you’re angry about UNITY. Morons. All of them.
Benjamin Watson said on twitter “Don’t kneel. Don’t lock arms. Don’t love each other. Do not empathize with your brother. Don’t care about your country. Do not speak up for the vulnerable. Don’t seek justice or righteousness. Just play. Sad.
